Microsoft Outlook 2003 - Account Setup


If you're having difficulty setting up your email account with Outlook 2003, follow these instructions:


From the Tools menu select E-mail Accounts...

This will open the following window:

Select Add a new e-mail account or View or change existing e-mail accounts if you have an email account set up that you wish to change. If you are adding a new account the following screen appears:

From this screen select POP3 and click Next.

Fill in the following information:

Your Name Your name goes here.
E-mail Address Your email address is username@yourdomain.com
Incoming Mail (POP3) Your POP3 server is mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) Your SMTP server is mail.yourdomain.com
User name Your POP3 user name is username@yourdomain.com
Password Your password is personally given to you

Now click on More Settings... to get the following pop up:

Click the Outgoing Server tab and check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

Now click the Advanced tab.

Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) from 25 to 587. Click OK to close this window and Next to bring up the last screen.

Click on Finish to save these settings. You can now send and receive mail with your MacServe.net email account.
